The Town of Oliver is warning about heavy snow falling trees across the community on Monday.
Trees and snow covered branches can be seen hanging heavy on wires. One person even snapped a picture of a transformer catching fire Monday morning.
Blizzard like conditions are impacting all of South Okanagan Monday morning, wreaking havoc on roads.
Crews are out plowing and sanding on all major routes in Oliver, said the town. Drivers are asked to slow to conditions and give equipment ample room to work.
Heavy snow is impacting trees in parks and the Hike & Bike Trail. If you are walking be aware of branches and snow falling. Report fallen trees through the Town of Oliver APP “Report It”.
Numerous branches are down near Oliver Elementary.
Keremeos is experiencing power outages, with both SESS and Cawston School having to close because of having no power and heat.
Penticton schools are open but buses aren’t running.
