Ninety-six customers in Cawston will be without power during the late morning/early afternoon Saturday, Marc 2 while Fortis replaces a hydro pole that was hit by a transport truck earlier in the week.
The Review received a message from Fortis about the planned outage on Thursday afternoon.
“There will be a planned outage in Cawston on March 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., affecting 96 FortisBC customers along Main Street and VLA Road. This outage is related to the MVI that damaged one of our poles. We have contacted these customers to let them know of the disruption in service while we make these repairs.,” the email stated.

The pole was damaged when a transport truck struck it around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday. The pole was leaning at about a 60-degree angle over large fuel tanks at Barry Beecroft Fuels on Main Street.
RCMP and the Keremeos Fire Department closed a portion of Main Street for several hours because of the incident.
They hydro lines were not damaged because of the hit so no one was without power.
