Naramata Volunteer Search/Rescue and Penticton and District Search and Rescue joined forces for the second time in less than a week to successfully extract an injured person from a steep hillside.
The unidentified male in his 20's reportedly suffered severe leg injuries in the accident which happened about noon Saturday near the KVR Trail close to Arawana Road and Naramata Creek.
The slope where the cyclist was located was estimated to be about 70 degrees and it was decided to call the search and rescue rope rescue team and pull him about 200 feet up the hill.
He was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital. A total of 35 responders, including the B.C. Ambulance service, were involved. The man's condition was not available.
The other incident involving the two organizations happened June 2 when they combined to rescue an injured hiker just north of Summerland.
