A SUV went down a six foot embankment on Greenwood Drive in Penticton on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were working to extricate two people inside the Jeep that ended up crashing into a house.

A person at the scene, who owns the Ford Focus, said she did not know what exactly happened.

“We just heard the sound,” said the woman.

It is believed the Jeep ran into the Ford Focus and then continued down the six foot drop to the house causing minor damage.

Rob Trupp, captain of the Penticton Fire Department, said two people were taken to hospital — one on a spine board while the other was believed to be shaken up from the accident and sent to the hospital for observation.

“The Jeep was up top and from what I understand is that they were trying to do a U-turn in the driveway and ended up down there,” said Trupp.

This story will be updated as more information comes in.
