RCMP stopped the driver of this vehicle on Highway 97 north of Vernon.

If the Okanagan-Shuswap should get another significant dump of snow this winter, RCMP are reminding drivers to clean the snow off their vehicles before they drive.

A Southeast District traffic services officer saw a snow-covered vehicle headed southbound on Highway 97 near the weigh scales north of Vernon on Feb. 12. The only portion cleared off snow, was the driver’s view through the windshield

“Not only was the man attempting to drive a snow-covered vehicle, he was going 30 kilometres over the posted speed limit,” said Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

The driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care, and he cleaned his vehicle off before heading on his way.
