The City of Penticton and contractors are making progress on leisure pool repairs, but have identified that plumbing fittings from the drains are not available and will have to be custom-ordered. As a result, the opening date of the leisure pool will be delayed until December.
The pool has been closed since August, when cracks were discovered after the surface tiles were replaced. The weekly celebrations organized by the city to thank customers for their patience continue as Canadian Tire partners with the Community Centre to mark the fall season. Kraft paper bags for yard waste will be given away, and customers who come to the centre can enter into a draw to win free leaf removal from Safari Lawn and Yard Service.
