Man arrested for indecent act near water park

The man was allegedly caught filming himself doing inappropriate things before a dad intervened

RCMP have made an arrest following reports that a man was ‘committing indecent acts’ beside a children’s water park at Swalwell Park in Lake Country.

On June 20, 2017 just after 4 p,.m., Lake Country RCMP responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the water park located on Bottom Wood Lake Road.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says police have since learned that a man confronted another man, allegedly observed committing an indecent act while he sat inside his vehicle parked adjacent to the water park.

The confrontation turned physical, before the man was apprehended and turned over to police.

“The RCMP continue their investigation into the allegations made, as investigators look to speak with more potential witnesses,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“A 64-year-old Central Okanagan man, identified by police, faces potential charges. He was later released on strict conditions and is expected to appear in court at a later date.”

According to a Facebook post on the topic, the man was caught filming himself doing inappropriate things before a dad intervened and the two men fought.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.
