Jamie Paul Wolanski will face a second-degree murder charge in a jury trial this summer.
Over two years will have passed since 16-year-old Andrew McAdam was stabbed to death at a bush party up Carmi Road by the time the 10-day trial gets underway on Aug. 12 in Penticton.
RCMP were called to the party at 2 a.m. in a location where over 100 high school students had gathered for a year-end graduation party that was not authorized by the school district.
Justice Alison Beames told council for Wolanski at his last appearance that court time was scarce in Penticton and there was discussion of potentially moving the trial to Kelowna. Wolanski has an application for bail still before the courts and had recently changed lawyers with Clarke Burnett now representing him.
