The second-degree murder trial of Penticton man Keith Wiens has been stood down for three weeks.
His trial in B.C. Supreme Court in Kelowna began May 30, but was unexpectedly halted on June 10. The reason for the delay can’t be published because it was discussed in court without the jury present.
Jurors were recalled Monday to confirm their availability. While the trial will go on, it won’t resume now until July 8. It was originally scheduled to last 15 days.
Wiens is accused in the August 2011 shooting death of common-law wife Lynn Kalmring at the home they shared in Penticton.
