Naramata Fire Department was called to reports of a rolled vehicle on Naramata Road around 7 p.m. Monday (Nov. 9) night.

The driver was standing next to the vehicle relatively unscathed when the fire department arrived, said fire chief Tony Trovao.

The driver reportedly told the crew on the scene he was able to escape the rolled vehicle by opening the sunroof and crawling out of it. The driver did not suffer any serious injuries, according to Trovao.

Iced-over roads are likely to blame for the crash, said Travao.

“I think it was just slippery roads coming off a corner and he tried to over-compensate, apparently the driver behind him saw him do a revolution and a half.”

With variable road conditions due to cold weather and snow, Travao urged drivers to go slower than normal and leave extra space between vehicles.
