Tickleberry’s and two new operators will be opening up the concessions at Skaha Lake this summer.

The Sudbury Beach and Skaha East concessions both went up for bids in February alongside the Penticton Peach, and the city announced the results for Skaha on May 11.

A numbered company belonging to Randy and Karen Gallagher, the previous operators of the Skaha Marina, will be taking over the Sudbury Beach concession and opening up a cafe there.

The Vallarta Fiesta Grill, which was located at 950 Lakeshore Drive, will be taking over the Skaha East concession.

According to the city’s director of finance and administration, Angela Campbell, the successful bid for the Skaha East concession came in at $4,000 per year and the Sudbury Beach concession was for $3,000 per year.

The concession stand contracts are for three-year terms.

The main Skaha concession, which is operated by Tickleberry’s, was not up for bidding this year but will be in 2023.

All concessions are set to be open from May long weekend to the September long weekend.
