Penticton’s campus of Okanagan College opens its doors on May 1 to high school students across the South Okanagan.

“Experience OC is an excellent opportunity for students to explore a variety of areas of interest and get a sense of what Okanagan College has to offer,” says Eric Corneau regional dean for the South Okanagan-Similkameen. “Theollege offers a wide variety of programs in trades, academic diplomas and degree options and this event is a perfect way for high-school students to think about post-secondary.”

More than 20 classes, ranging in subject from animation to physics and criminology to practical nursing, will be open for students to register in. Experience OC is open to students from Grade 10 to Grade 12. The students will spend the day on campus and get a chance to experience some of what it is like to be a college student.

The event will run from 10:15 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The classes themselves will be an hour long, and there will be additional activities and snacks available to students. Registration for Experience OC is open until April 27, and information about class choices and registration can be found at okanagan.bc.ca/ExperienceOC and by talking to your school counsellor.
