Residents of Okanagan Falls and surrounding areas have just one opportunity to attend a local all-candidates forum ahead of the regional district’s Oct. 15 election.

Okanagan Falls Elementary School is hosting a pre-election gathering on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Ron Obirek and Matt Taylor, the two individuals running to be the director of ‘Area D’ in the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.

The two candidates organized the forum themselves in order to provide a platform where voters can hear about the area’s most important issues ahead of the regional election.

Obirek, the incumbent director, is being challenged on Oct. 15 by Taylor, a member of the Okanagan Falls Community Association.

Tuesday’s gathering will be the area’s lone election forum.

James Miller, an incumbent city council candidate in Penticton, will moderate the forum.

All ‘Area D’ residents are encouraged to attend.
