Oliver’s Venables Theatre hosts Ukrainian benefit concert March 19

Artist Gina Williams headlines the concert

The Seventh-day Adventist churches of Oliver and Osoyoos are sponsoring a Ukrainian Charity Benefit Concert at Oliver’s Venables Theatre.

The concert will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, and admission is free.

In addition to performances by local youth, the headliner is Canadian award-winning artist Gina Williams. Talented in multiple genres, Williams has performed at stages and festivals around the world, including in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Attendees will have the opportunity to select several Canadian charities that help the humanitarian crisis affecting the people of Ukraine.

The concert will also feature video stories of evacuees helping to put a real face to the crisis.

The Town of Oliver, Venables Theatre, local businesses and residents are helping to put the concert on.

The goal of the concert is to bring awareness and tangible support to the ongoing humanitarian tragedy that Russian president Vladimir Putin has caused against Ukraine.
