Osoyoos Fire warns of slippery road conditions on part of Highway 3

Water pooling at the Kobau Lake Forest turn off is making for dangerous driving conditions

It’s not a warning you would expect to hear during a heat wave, but Osoyoos Fire and Rescue are cautioning motorists about a portion of Highway 3 that is very slippery.

Osoyoos Fire Rescue is warning motorists especially motorcyclists about water pooling on Highway 3, 12 kilometers west of Osoyoos just past the Kobau Lake Forest turn off.

This part of the highway is extremely slippery. Please take caution passing over this section of the roadway. It is important for motorcyclists to navigate this carefully due to its slippery nature, said Osoyoos Fire.

Water can be seen coming up from the cracks of the road from what is believe to be an underwater spring.
