A heavy police presence to Osoyoos resulted in numerous people inquiring why there were so many unmarked police SUVs heading south on Highway 97 Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Penticton RCMP, a call for service resulted in the activation of the South East District Emergency Response Team (ERT) in Osoyoos.

Fortunately the matter was safety resolved prior to the arrival of the team, said Const. Dayne Lyons, media relations for the Penticton detachment.

“No further information will be shared at present,” he added.
