On July 26 the Osoyoos RCMP responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 3 near Vineyard Road. A BMW X5 pulling a boat on trailer was travelling on Highway 3 in the slow lane when a deer jumped out in front and was struck by the vehicle. The collision pushed the BMW into the fast lane. A Honda Accord driving in the same direction in the fast lane was unable to avoid the BMW and ended up striking the rear of the boat. There was no injuries to either party, however, the damage to the Honda rendered it inoperable. A search for the injured deer was unsuccessful as it had run from the scene.

On July 26 the Osoyoos RCMP during a vehicle stop near Eagle Court the attending officer smelled a strong odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and occupants revealed six grams of dried marijuana. The occupant in possession claimed to have a medical marijuana possession licence. It was learned the licence was not a valid Health Canada licence but instead issued by a third party. The marijuana was seized for destruction.

On July 27 the Osoyoos RCMP received a report of damage to an orchard on 87th Street.  It was clear a vehicle had driven off the road and into the orchard damaging several trees prior to departing. A bumper and licence plate had broken free of the vehicle and were left at the scene. Police located the vehicle at the registered owner’s residence in Osoyoos. The registered owner is facing a charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and failing to report the accident which caused significant damage to the orchard.
