The City of Penticton will be allowing construction work to start earlier for the next two weeks due to the soaring temperatures.

The exemption to the noise bylaw applies to city works and private construction projects.

During the exemption, crews and contractors will be allowed to start work at 6 a.m., ahead of the worst heat of the day.

The intention is to allow safe working conditions during the high temperatures.

Temperatures in Penticton are reaching over 30 C by mid-day with the heat warning in effect until Sunday.
