The male was released and is pending charges of possession of a stolen truck. Further charges are being sought for the items found in the truck.

Canada Day

Osoyoos RCMP were kept busy dealing with a number of intoxicated people.

Of the nine arrests for public intoxication, one male was also charged with obstruction and issued an explosion letter for causing a disturbance and obstruction police during the course of their duties.

The letter bans the person from entering any town beaches or facilities until the end of September.

Stolen vehicles

Over the last two weeks two vehicles have been stolen from the Osoyoos area.

RCMP said in both of these incidents the keys were left in the vehicle making it very easy for anyone to obtain and depart in the vehicle.

RCMP in Summerland said a 2008 Jeep Cherokee Wrangler was stolen from the parking lot in A&W on Monday. The owner had also left the keys in the vehicle.
