Passenger dead, driver taken to hospital in Marron Valley Road accident

Penticton RCMP confirms the accident last night on Marron Valley Road resulted in a death.

Const. James Grandy says investigators are considering the possibility of alcohol being a factor in the accident, which claimed the life of a female passenger and sent the man driving the vehicle to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to an RCMP release, they were called to the scene at about 9 p.m. on Nov. 19. to assist the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department with a report of a single-vehicle rollover in the 1700 block of Marron Valley Rd.

The BC Coroner’s Service, along with the RCMP Traffic Analyst attended the scene and are continuing their investigation, and no charges have been laid yet.


Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.

A second death in a motor vehicle accident has reportedly occurred near Penticton.

At about 9:30 p.m., the Penticton Fire Department was called to assist at a rollover in the area of 1793 Marron Valley Road, roughly midway between Green Mountain Road and Highway 3a.

Earlier today, Penticton RCMP were investigating a death in an MVA on Carmi Avenue.
