High demand for tickets to the screening of a documentary that a Penticton RCMP officer took part in is the driving force for the addition of a matinee screening.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk credits a whole-foods, plant based food diet for saving his life after being diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer in November 2013, and given  only two years to live. Moskaluk and his wife Sheanne, shared their stories with a new health and nutrition documentary Eating You Alive, which is making its Canadian debut in Penticton on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The pre-release Canadian debut of the film, taking place at the Shatford Center on Wednesday sold out quickly of the 300 seats available for the 6:30 p.m. event.

A 1 p.m. matinee was added for Wednesday and tickets are now available online at eatingyoualive.com

“We are so thrilled about the quick sell out that we’ve added a 1 p.m. matinee, in order to permit as many people to be the first in Canada to see the movie, prior to its wider theatrical release later in the year or early in the New Year.  It’s truly a unique opportunity for us here Penticton, B.C.,” said Dan Moskaluk, stage IV kidney cancer survivor.

The film also features several celebrities leading a WFPB lifestyle and the top medical experts and researchers in the field of human nutrition, including Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Neal Barnard and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

The film Eating You Alive and cast members Dan and Sheanne’s Moskaluk’s WFPB advocacy efforts recently received a strong endorsement from local physician Dr, Wendy Ross, the lead physician of the Penticton Cancer Clinic and founder of the ground breaking preventative medicine practice Complete Health Management.

"I would strongly encourage all my cancer patients and their families and friends to come and see this film, for a comprehensive overview of the many benefits of a Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle. I also recommend that my colleagues attend this screening, to further open the dialogue amongst medical practitioners about the importance of WFPB nutrition," said Dr. Wendy Ross.

Dr. Ross is a fervent advocate of the whole food, plant based lifestyle for optimal health, disease prevention, management and reversal of chronic diseases including cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

“I’m excited to be collaborating with Dan and Sheanne, they are truly both outstanding examples of what the WFPB lifestyle can do,” said Dr. Ross.
