Penticton, Oliver distillery’s in high spirits after winning awards

Penticton and Oliver distillery’s earn golds at first Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition

It was silver and gold for a Penticton distillery in the first ever Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition.

Old Order Distilling Co. earned a gold in the Vodka category for its Heritage Vodka and earned an impressive silver in the Young Whisky (aged under three years) category for the Okanagan Highland Whisky.

Also earning top honours in the competition was The Dubh Glas Distillery in Oliver. The Dubh Glas Distillery earned gold in the Gin category for its Noteworthy Gin.

Each spirit underwent a blind taste test with a panel of eight judges awarding points for nose, palate, balance and finish.

The Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition was organized by the same group that successful built BC Distilled, Canada’s largest artisan spirit festival .
