Penticton RCMP arrest man with 40 prior convictions

A man with 40 prior criminal convictions was arrested by Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force members last week.

A man with 40 prior criminal convictions was arrested by Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force members last week.

Cpl. Brad Myhre said officers arrested three people in a vehicle in the 600 block of Birch Avenue on June 6. Officers arrested the trio for drug trafficking and Myhre said a search of the vehicle they were in turned up quantities of heroin and cocaine plus associated trafficking paraphernalia. A 28-year-old female resident of Penticton and two residents of West Kelowna were arrested, a 39-year-old male and a 50-year-old female.

The two females were later released from custody and the male, who has the lengthy criminal record, was held for court on Monday. RCMP said he faces anticipated charges of both cocaine and heroin for the purpose of trafficking. Myhre said the man's record criminal convictions include several for drug trafficking offences as recent as 2010 in West Kelowna.
