Police investigators, including forensic experts and traffic analysts were on the scene at the 3500 block of Skaha Lake Road Tuesday morning where a body was discovered about 4:30 a.m.
Sgt. Rick Dellebuur of the Penticton RCMP said the deceased male, believed to be in his 20s, was found by people walking their dog.
“It may have been a hit and run, we just don’t know at this point and we’re continuing our investigation,” said Dellebuur.
The man’s covered body was in the slow lane on the west side of the road, the area roped off with police tape.
The identity of the deceased was not available, however, Dellebuur believed the man may have been known to police.
