From Sept. 3 to 7, the City of Penticton will be repaving some of the high traffic streets in the city’s industrial area.

The work will take place in the evenings and overnight, resulting in closures between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Design supervisor Tyler Figgitt said it will likely be a combination of single-lane closures and some detours as the work proceeds.

“The reason we are dong it at night is to minimize the impact on the Industrial area,” said Figgitt. “Most of the traffic should have died off by then.”

The streets that will be resurfaced include Government Street from Carmi Avenue to Dawson Avenue; Industrial Avenue from Okanagan Avenue to Amherst Street and Dawson Avenue from Dartmouth Drive to South Main Street

“We thank the community for its patience during this time while we work to complete these critical repairs,” said Figgitt. A more detailed schedule of the planned work will be available online at penticton.ca.
