Penticton residents may see water discolouration on April 5

The discolouration may occur as a result of pipe work nearby, does not pose health risk

Residents of Penticton living north of Penticton Avenue and east of Government Street may see discolouration in their water on April 5 due to pipe work being done nearby.

“We aren’t expecting any service disruptions while this work is carried out, however those in the impacted area may notice minor discolouration in their water,” said city design supervisor, Tyler Figgitt, in a release. “If residents and businesses in this area do experience any discolouration, as a preventative measure, we recommend running the tap until the water appears clear”.

The release states crews will flush the associated lines during their work to reduce the appearance of discolouration. This poses no risk to public health.
