Penticton royals shine at Vernon carnival

Miss Penticton Queen Lily Eggert and Princess Makayla Stasuik were at the Vernon Winter Carnival

A couple of Penticton royals were witnesses to the recent Vernon coronation.

Miss Penticton Queen Lily Eggert and Princess Makayla Stasuik were at the Vernon Winter Carnival Thursday evening at the proclamation and coronation of Queen Silver Star.

The theme for Vernon event, which runs Feb. 2-11, is Carnival in Wonderland.

There are more than 45 free events over the 10-day event including 14 new events this year, the Mother/Daughter Tea in Wonderland, Battle of the Bands, Predator Ridge Parka Party and Lego Build and Lunch.

The annual Winter Carnival parade takes place Sat., Feb. 3, at noon along the usual route: south along 27th Street from MacDonald Park to 30th Avenue, west on 30th to 31st Street and north along 31st to the Civic Arena.
