A Penticton youth is in hospital following a collision with a pickup truck Thursday evening.
According to Penticton RCMP, the 14-year-old male was riding a skateboard through the crosswalk at Main Street and Industrial Avenue, when he was struck by a 2012 Dodge pickup making a left turn from Main onto Industrial Avenue.
The youth suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital. The 33-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Feb. 11, and Penticton municipal traffic members and a Southeast District Traffic Services Re-constructionist attended the scene and are continuing with the investigation.
