Drive BC is reporting the highway is closed due to a plane crash that happened late this afternoon.
Highway 97 is closed in both direction two kilometres north of the junction with Highway 3. Estimated time of opening is not available. Drive BC said a detour is available via 108th Street, 87th Street and 112th Street. Their next update is expected at 8 p.m.
Global BC is reporting that the pilot of a small aircraft suffered from burns and there is no word on the severity at this time. They also reported the pilot has been airlifted to hospital.
