There were only minor injuries in a fight involving several people and a weapon on Eckhardt Avenue Wednesday afternoon just after 3 p.m.

About a half-dozen RCMP vehicles converged on the scene of the disturbance which apparently involved a youth and older maleĀ in the area of Penticton Secondary School.

ā€œWe attended and we’re just trying to sort it out now, it sounds like it was difference of opinions resulting in one of the parties coming with a weapon and started striking the other party,ā€ said Staff Sgt. Kurt Lozinski of Penticton RCMP who was on the scene. ā€œWe’re just trying to sort it out to see who instigated it and who is at fault and we’ll get it resolved.ā€

An eye witness said it was the older male who was using the weapon which she described as a stick.
