Police swoop down on suspected traffickers

Police arrested nine people in four separate incidents on Forbes Street, Vancouver Avenue, Lakeshore Drive and Parkview Street over a 24-hour period Wednesday and Thursday.

"As a result, four vehicles were seized and towed and five people face a variety of charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in marijuana, escaping lawful custody and obstructing a police officer," said Cpl. Brad Myhre with the Drug Task Force.

One male was also arrested on a parole suspension warrant. All of the suspects were known to police, and most were released in custody to appear in court at a later date.

The latest string of arrests come just a week after police nabbed another four suspected drug dealers in a 24-hour period.
