Provincial finance committee seeks input on next budget

Provincial finance committee public consultations on Budget 2014 stop in Penticton Oct. 1, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penticton City Hall.

The Finance Committee's province-wide public consultations on Budget 2014 are continuing into the month of October.

The annual budget consultations provide a unique opportunity for British Columbians to present ideas on next year's provincial budget to an all-party parliamentary committee of MLAs. British Columbians can participate by either attending a community public hearing, making a written submission, or completing an on-line survey by visiting: www.leg.bc.ca/cmt/finance.

"All British Columbians are invited to present their ideas to the committee at a public hearing or by making a submission on-line," said committee chair Dan Ashton. "All of the input received is carefully considered as part of our final report," added deputy chair Mike Farnworth.

In Penticton, the all-party Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government sits on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m in council chambers, Penticton City Hall, 171 Main St.
