An Oliver man is dead after what RCMP are calling a "disturbance" on Saturday afternoon at a residence on Black Sage Road, just north of Osoyoos.

RCMP located 20-year-old Reece Dillenger Louie laying outside the residence around 3:30 p.m. and immediately applied first aid. Louie was suffering from serious injuries and bleeding heavily as officers assisted him. After being transported to the South Okanagan Hospital in Oliver then to Kelowna General Hospital the incident took a serious turn as Louie died while under hospital care that evening.

“The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit has now become involved and are now  investigating the incident. The mandate of the investigation will be to determine wether or not the death is a criminal matter” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

Once Louie was removed from the scene, the officers turned their tasks to confirming whether any other involved parties were still in the residence. Moskaluk said it was determined that a second man in his 20s, who was believed to have been in the residence at the time of the disturbance, had left the residence. Oliver RCMP located and arrested the individual without incident on Saturday evening. The man remains in police custody at this time.
