RCMP release name of man found dead in Penticton

RCMP believe 28-year-old Scott Michaud was killed in a hit and run in Penticton sometime in the early morning hours of Aug. 12.

Penticton RCMP now say the injuries suffered by 28-year-old Scott Michaud, whose body was found on Skaha Lake Road the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 12 are consistent with him having been struck by a vehicle.

In a press release on Wednesday, Aug. 13, Sgt. Rick Dellebuur said the driver of the vehicle left the scene. The incident was believed to have happened just prior to arrival of the police.

The body of the deceased was found about 4:40 a.m. by passersby in the southbound curb lane of the road.

RCMP are currently looking for a male witness driving a late 90's or early 2000 model, domestic minivan who had driven up to the scene and spoken to witnesses but left just before police arrived.
