The RCMP have arrested another priority offender in Penticton.
On Aug. 8, officers with the Targeted Enforcement Unit located and arrested Ian James MacDonald, age 38, who is believed responsible for a series of break and enters in the region, several of which included a theft of a vehicle earlier that morning.
The TEU was tipped off to MacDonald’s whereabouts in the south end of Penticton. After a short struggle, in which MacDonald resisted arrest, he was taken into custody.
The RCMP say MacDonald is facing a number of new property-related charges and is no stranger to the law, with over 100 criminal convictions.
“It’s not often you come across a bad guy with that horrendous a record. He is a very brazen criminal so obviously, it’s a relief getting this guy off the streets” said Cpl. Scott VanEvery of the TEU.
