Reported break-in turns up nothing but two men using drugs

It was one of two reported break-and-enters last week, according to Penticton RCMP

Reports of two women breaking into an accounting firm on Martin Street turned out untrue upon police investigation last Thursday, but the story didn’t end at that.

After arriving, Penticton RCMP officers spotted two men using drugs outside the building.

One of the men, a 25-year-old from Kelowna, was found to have two warrants out for his arrest.

Police arrested him and determined the other to be too high to care for himself and was held overnight.

Earlier in the week, Wine Crush was the victim of an apparent break-and-enter, after the store’s owners left the front door open overnight.

Police responded to the store on Aug. 1 at 7:10 a.m., where two laptops, a tablet and a cash box were all reported missing.

That incident is under investigation.
