A small safe was stolen from the Penticton Community Centre on Saturday (Dec. 2), according to RCMP.

Police say the grey safe contained cash and keys.

No information has been released about how the person or people responsible broke into the building or the extent of the damage. The city closed the centre for the majority of the day Saturday after the break-in was discovered.

Police are looking for help from anyone who lives in the area who might have seen anything suspicious overnight between Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP, 250-492-4300, and quote file 2023-19387,” Corp. James Grandy said in a statement.
