Small wildfire southeast of Revelstoke

13 personnel are battling the blaze

A wildfire was reported southeast of Revelstoke near Coot Lake.

The fire was reported yesterday (June 6), and BC Wildfire Services said it has crews working on the blaze. The fire is currently 0.13 hectares, which was recorded after 3 p.m. today (June 7). Currently, the fire is still marked on the BC Wildfire map as out of control.

13 personnel were dispatched to the fire and are working on creating a fuel break around the fire to prevent further spread. BC Wildfire services said a helicopter was assisting the efforts of the ground crew by bucketing the area to cool the fire.

BC Wildfire Services also said that the fire is not a risk to infrastructure.
