Snowpack levels at two Summerland measurement sites are above normal, according to the latest statistics from the municipality.
The Jan. 1 measurements were taken at Summerland Reservoir and at Isintok Lake.

At Summerland Reservoir, the snowpack depth was 760 millimetres, or the equivalent of 163 millimetres of water. This is 148 per cent of the historical average of 110 millimetres of water, based on measurements over 58 years.
At Isintok Lake, the snow depth on Jan. 1 was 430 millimetres, or the equivalent of 83 millimetres of water. This is 104 per cent of the historical average of 80 millimetres, based on 56 years of measurements.
The snowpack measurements at both sites were higher than they were in 2020.
On Jan. 1, 2020, the Summerland Reservoir was at 101 per cent of the historical average while Isintok Lake was at 75 per cent of the historical average. On Jan. 1, 2019, the snowpack at Summerland Reservoir was at 81 per cent of the historical average while the snowpack at Isintok Lake was at 55 per cent of its historical average.
