The emergency department at the South Okanagan General Hospital will be closed from Saturday evening to Sunday morning due to lack of physician coverage.
The closure takes effect Saturday, July 6 at 6 p.m. and continues until Sunday, July 7 at 8 a.m.
In case of an emergency, residents are asked to call 9-1-1.
Those who require care are asked to visit the emergency department at the Penticton Regional Hospital, 550 Carmi Ave., Penticton.
Those who are unsure about their need to go to the emergency department are asked to call HealthLinkBC at 8-1-1. This is a 24-hour service.
