Thefts of Ford F-Series trucks are on the rise in the Okanagan.
The South Okanagan RCMP detachment issued a release stating close to 50 Ford F-Series trucks have either been stolen or an attempt to steal them has been made from all areas from Kelowna to Penticton into the Similkameen and everywhere in between.
“These types of vehicles have typically always been a target for vehicle thieves, however, recently we’ve seen a significant increase. We’re hoping that by advising people who may own such a vehicle, they can take extra precautions when securing them” said Const. James Grandy, of the South Okanagan detachment.
Reports of 17 theft or attempted theft of Ford F-Series between January 28 to February 24 were reported in the South Okanagan.
While in the Kelowna area there has been 25 vehicle thefts and six attempted thefts.
