Three Penticton and Summerland schools reporting COVID exposures

Several schools in School District 67 have reported potential COVID exposures.

According to Interior Health’s online list, West Bench Elementary is reporting a potential exposure on Oct. 19, while Trout Creek Elementary in Summerland is reporting potential exposures on Oct. 19 and 20.

KVR Middle School in Penticton has reported three days of potential exposures on Oct. 15, 19 and 20. KVR Middle School had potential exposures on Sept. 28 and 29 as well.

Potential exposure means staff or students attended school having COVID-19 and later tested positive for the virus.

There are no reported exposures in the Okanagan Similkameen school district #53.

A COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be available to five to 11-year-olds in the coming months.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says as soon as Health Canada approves the COVID-19 vaccine for kids, Pfizer will ship millions of doses to vaccinate children as young as five.
