If you often find yourself travelling on Fairview Road or Martin Street, you may want to find an alternate route over the weekend.

Starting Thursday (Aug. 19) Fairview Rd. north or Duncan Ave. will be repaved, causing delays.

The repaving is expected to run through Saturday (Aug. 21) and is a part of the Lake-to-Lake bike route project.

Signal arm installation on Monday (Aug. 23) will see Martin St. south closed at Eckhardt Ave.

Traffic will be detoured around the intersection for the day and businesses along Eckhardt Ave. aren’t expected to be affected.

Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be affected south of Lakeshore Drive on Martin St. for three days starting Aug. 25, as work will begin to provide power to the new ice rink next to Gyro Park.

The City of Penticton says more information about construction of the ice rink will be shared as it’s available.
