Highway 3 was reduced to two lanes today while emergency crews dealt with a single-vehicle rollover.

The accident occurred when the driver of the vehicle swerved to avoid a deer in the road, and the vehicle ended up on its roof in a gully next to the highway, just west of the landmark Red Bridge.

Keremeos firefighters had to extricate the passenger of the vehicle, who was trapped but reportedly not seriously injured.

The deer ran away from the scene, but was apparently seriously injured.
