RCMP officers examine a section in the 300-block of Robinson Street early Monday afternoon in connection with an unconfirmed report of a stabbing and robbery. Police say one person was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital in connection with the incident but did not release any further details.

RCMP said an employee of the Riverside Starbucks was taking a store deposit to a downtown bank in Penticton when she was robbed.

"She was approached by an unknown person who cut the strap off the Mountain Equipment Co-op briefcase that contained the cash and in that action of trying to cut it and steal it, cut the person's arm," said Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth.

The victim was only able to describe the robber as wearing dark clothing. RCMP said about $2,500 was stolen and the woman suffered a serious, but non-life threatening, cut on her arm.
