VIDEO: Penticton voters talk election issues ahead of 2022 results

Polls are open until 8 p.m.

Penticton’s leaders for the next four years are expected to be named after 8 p.m., Saturday night.

Voters will elect a mayor, six councillors and four school trustees in the 2022 municipal election, with polling stations open until 8 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and the Senior’s Drop-In Centre.

The Western News took the streets ahead of the results to see what issues matter most to those at the polls.

The city said on Friday, Oct. 14, that nearly 3,700 people voted in the advanced polls.

Penticton residents will be able to see the tally at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, and also online. A number of candidates are expected to be at the centre watching the live results.
