Anyone considering running to be a regional director with the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is invited to attend an information session on Aug. 30 in Penticton.

The RDOS is hoping to inform people about the role of an elected official through an in-person and electronic discussion at the RDOS office at 101 Martin Street in Penticton starting at 7 p.m.

Regional district staff will be available to answer any questions.

Nine electoral areas and six-member municipalities make up the RDOS. Elections to determine a director for each of the electoral areas are held every four years.

Nominations for running as an elected official can be submitted between Aug. 30 at 9 a.m. and Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.
