A water-quality advisory has been issued for people on the Garnet Valley Water System.
Low chlorine levels have been detected due to a partial failure of the chlorine disinfection system, according to a press release issued by the District of Summerland.
The district recommends that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and anyone else seeking additional protection use only water that’s been boiled for one minute. Alternatively, they can use water from another source.
The advisory does not apply to the Summerland municipal water supply. Residents will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.
