Penticton will drop to just one flight to Calgary leaving the airport starting May 1.

WestJet media relations advisor Lauren Stewart said the seasonal second flight will end, but they will continue with the daily WestJet Encore flight that still allows for a connection to Calgary and the broader WestJet network.

The daily flight will be a 2:10 p.m. departure out of Calgary landing in Penticton at 2:25 p.m. There is a 3 p.m. departure out of Penticton, landing in Calgary at 5:09 p.m.

“WestJet added the second flight in October as part of our winter schedule and it was always scheduled to end on April 30. We understand it is going to be a busy travel season and Penticton is a popular summer destination, however, the aircraft used for the additional flight is only available during the winter months,” said Stewart. “Although the community will not have a second daily flight this summer, we will evaluate how the route was used overall and make a decision for next winter that makes sense for our guests in the community and our shareholders.”
