In loving memory ~
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Arthur "Art" Ecker on December 7th, 2024, at the age of 79, in Penticton, BC.
Beloved husband of Anne, father to Kim (Ryley) and Mike (Lara) and grandfather to Cooper, Landon, Jenaya, and Zach. Art grew up on the farm in Smithville, ON, as one of 12 children.
Throughout his working career, Art worked in Transportation management across Canada with stops in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and BC. At home, he enjoyed coaching, supporting, and transporting both kids and grandkids in their sporting ventures.
Upon retirement, Art achieved a lifetime dream and cycled across Canada with a cycling group. He also enjoyed playing Old Timers hockey and golfing with friends at SGCC. Travel was another passion that took him to all corners of the world.
His battle with serious health issues showed his courage in facing life challenges head on and despite the pain, he maintained his humour to the end.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
